So despite all protests and unhelpful comments of "No I'm not telling you what I want for christmas, dont get me anything," I bought Mr Sedaris a present.

The issue now is whether he'll like it because if he doesnt, the scene will go something like this:

Him: "I read the book but I clearly did not find it witty and clever and am clearly not deeply in love with the author like you are.

[Enter: greek chrous with protestations about how you should love this book.]

Me: "ahahahah.... I'm not having sex with you ever again."

Him: "Funny."

Me:"No seriously."
[aside: isn't that cute, he thinks I'm joking.]

That badly written one act play sums up why I should not make presents of something I love deeply to people because if they dont love it equally I will disown them. It also shows why you should tell me what you want for christmas if I ask.

EDIT:He thinks the book is funny, he likes my present.

Awwww yeah.
